The medical director of the NHS Sir Bruce Keogh said that the health service should move towards a seven-day model of working. He informed the Sunday Times: “Our system has been based around providing as good a working environment as you can for the people who work in the health service, which isn’t necessarily matched with what the people who want services have.”

Is your organisation or firm changing shifts or working patterns? Time and Attendance UK will help smooth the process using our leading clocking and hours recording software. Work patterns are a combination of daily rules that are either a repeating pattern of shifts or a list of alternative rules. Each type of pattern can be set up to override the normal pattern and use a specific shift on, say, weekends. It contains special rules to accommodate both annual contracts and formal flexitime contracts.
