The Range set to create up to 6,750 new jobs across the UK
The Range, a Plymouth-headquartered retailer of home, leisure and garden products, has just revealed plans to create up to 6,750 new jobs across the UK in less than three years, 1,750 of which are to be in Scotland, with the opening of 45 new stores during the period.
According to a new media report on the matter, five more stores are set to open in 2013 in Edinburgh, Dundee, Dudley, Milton Keynes and Southend, with a further 20 openings being planned for 2014.
Founder Chris Dawson said: “With stores planned all across the UK, we are excited to be creating so many jobs. In less than three years we plan to create more than 1,750 jobs in Scotland alone, with the remaining 5,000 in England and Wales, totalling 6,750 new jobs in as little as three years.”
“We have been working towards opening stores in Scotland for a long time but wanted to make sure the company was structured to support the expansion, we have recently opened a huge 750,000 sq ft warehouse in Doncaster that will support Scotland temporarily while we look at a specific warehouse in Scotland. The Scotland warehouse will bring another 400 new jobs” Mr. Dawson added.
