Olympian workplace management can override shift patterns on public holidays
The BBC has defended its Olympics staffing levels. BBC personnel covering the Games have increased by 50 per cent from the 493 that worked at Beijing in 2008. A spokesman for the BBC said: “Don’t forget, NBC is flying 2,700 over from the USA. So we’re pretty lean and mean.” BBC One and BBC Three will be showing the action, with BBC One hosting continuous coverage of events from today’s opening ceremony except to switch to the news.
Rostering and staff time management is made easier with Time & Attendance UK – the best there is at time and attendance and job costing systems. It handles all major hours calculation methods and the software includes settings to separate ‘worked time’ into: different overtime rates, night shifts and breaks. WinTA will predict the most appropriate shift depending on when an employee starts work. Each type of pattern can be set up to override the normal pattern and use a specific shift on public holidays.
