New housing development set to be built in the North of Enfield

A new housing development is set to be built in the north of Enfield as part of a collaborative project between the Enfield Council and Kier property, a recent news report in the local media was able to reveal.

The new development of 94 new residential homes will consist of 37 affordable homes and 57 private rented homes.

The homes will occupy seven small sites across Enfield. On six of these the original council-owned bedsits were no longer fit for purpose and a seventh site was a disused garage.

The land, which has now been cleared, is being prepared to build a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes, all within three miles of the town centre. Building work will start on the first two sites in December.

Funding has been raised for the development through Enfield Innovations Limited, a newly formed company wholly owned by Enfield Council, which enables the council to retain the private rental properties.
