Construction and support services company Interserve has just managed to secure a very lucrative contract with the BBC, following which it will be responsible for 26 services including critical broadcast engineering and business continuity services.

As a media news report has revealed, the contract is worth £150m for the five-year term and includes management and delivery of services at 150 facilities including Broadcasting House in London, MediaCityUK in Salford, Pacific Quay in Glasgow, covering a floor space of 6.4 million sq ft. Furthermore, as part of the contract, around 1,100 employees will transfer to Interserve from existing providers.

Adrian Ringrose, chief executive at Interserve, said: “We already have a strong understanding of the BBC’s requirements.

“We are already working closely together to mobilise the contract in anticipation of service transferring in April 2014 and are looking forward to welcoming 1,100 new colleagues at that time.”
