Erith Park in Bexley to undergo extensive redevelopment programme

After receiving £6.7m in funding from the Mayor of London ad a part of the Affordable Homes Programme, local housing association, Orbit South, is now able to continue work at the Erith Park project, a media news report has revealed.

The £120m housing project aims to completely redevelop the former Larner Road estate in Erith. Orbit South, in partnership with the local community, the London Borough of Bexley, Wates Living Space and Orbit Homes. As part of the scheme, the seven high-rise blocks in the area will be replaced by around 550 new homes for around 3,000 local people.

Work on the site started in April this year with the first homes being ready in late 2015. The scheme will include a mix of homes for affordable rent, private market sale and low cost home ownership. In phase one, 40% will be three and four bedroom family houses with gardens.
