Employee on-line self service module allows contractors to view or change personal information
Unions have claimed the Office for National Statistics figures that say the average weekly gross wage for public-sector workers was £564.60, £9 more than those in the private sector, reinforced a myth that those in the public sector were better off. Unison counters that because lower-paid workers such as cooks, hospital cleaners, residential care and home care workers were employed by private-sector companies, the figures were skewed. Other research has found private-sector pay deals are averaging three per cent.
