Biometric time and attendance systems are a must for healthcare staff
Biometric time and attendance systems are vital for ensuring that hospital staff in India work their contracted hours, the local health directorate has decided. For this reason, their use for clocking in and out will become compulsory for all hospitals controlled by the aforementioned authority, a news report has been able to suggest.
Health department officials said that they were frequently receiving complaints regarding irregular attendance of some doctors and healthcare staff. Health minister Kalicharan Saraf said that from February 15, doctors and other healthcare staff including nurses and lab technicians will have to mark their attendance through biometric attendance systems.
Directions have been issued to make the attendance compulsory through biometric machines in districts hospital, sub-district hospitals, satellite hospitals along with community health centres and primary health centres.
Healthcare organizations should consider installing one of the Facial Recognition-based Access Control/Time and Attendance solutions provided by Time & Attendance UK, together with Biometric Control.
Based on a proprietary system design, the Facial Recognition solution features proven near-infrared facial recognition for a superior level of accuracy, attained by reducing interference coming from object background.
As mentioned earlier, this solution can be easily integrated with existing Time and Attendance and Access Control systems, as it comes packed with built in relays and sensors and it can also connect to an external relay/controller box via RS485 interface to enhance system security, while also supporting a Wiegand input and output for interfacing external Access Control devices such as proximity card readers and keypads.
Last, but certainly not least, it’s important to mention that the Facial Recognition solution can also accurately record up to 50,000 system events and take snapshots if required (imposter alarm capability).
