Northampton-based Freefoam Plastics, the UK subsidiary of an Irish-owned manufacturer of PVC building products, has recorded a very strong growth over the past few years, and now, it’s announced plans to extend its operations, leading to 40 new jobs being created in the process.

House builder Barratt Developments has expressed its confidence in the bright future of the housing market, with private forward sales climbing past £1bn.

According to a news report, since the announcement of the government’s Help to Buy scheme in the recent Budget, Barratt has experienced a boost in levels of consumer interest and a strengthening of sales rates, leading to about 400 reservations to date for the group.

A new research report has just revealed that the level of occupancy across hotels in Bristol has increased during March by 1.9 per cent, reaching 73.3 per cent, compared with 71.9 per cent in March last year.

Coca-Cola set to shed near 300 jobs


Coca-Cola Enterprises has decided to exit it store delivery operation, a move following which almost 300 staff members will be made redundant.

According to a news report, the company is set to lay off 288 staff members from its Bristol, East Kilbride, North London, Northampton, Sidcup and Wakefield sites. Coca-Cola Enterprises employs around 4,500 people across the UK.

Aviva set to slash 2,000 jobs


Insurance powerhouse Aviva has just revealed the fact that it’s going to make redundant around 2,000 staff across UK, Europe and Asia, a news report reveals.

The company wants to cut expenses by an estimate £400m in the near future, and in order to do so, they’ll have to cut around 6 percent of its global workforce, estimated at around 31,200 (18,000 of which are based in the UK alone).

Rate of growth for permanent placements across the South East slows down


The rate of growth for permanent placements across the South East market slowed in March 2013 to the weakest pace since August 2012, a new study by accountancy firm and business adviser KPMG indicates.

Unfortunately, this trend is shared by temporary placements, also recording a visible decline over the same period.
