Carillion stated that the apprenticeships will be across the business with roles in construction, infrastructure and support services sectors. The scheme was announced during a visit to the Carillion Training Services centre in Middlesbrough, by Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne.

The Chancellor said: “Since 2010, 2 million people have taken up an apprenticeship and it is part of our long-term economic plan to boost the number of apprentices still further. When a business is giving a young person a chance in life, we are very clear that government must support them fully.”
