The report was put together by Worthing-based tax adviser Carpenter Box for accountancy trade association MHA and encompasses manufacturing organisations from the automotive, construction, chemical, electric and electronics, metals, food and drink, minerals and materials, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, and renewables sectors.

The same report points out that approximately 45 per cent of firms also expect overall staffing numbers to rise in 2013.
