No need to remove clocking smart cards from a wallet or purse when scanned

The news that over 2,000 jobs are now secured in the defence industry has been applauded. Defence secretary Philip Hammond announced that the firm Babcock will upgrade HMS Vengeance which is the newest of four Trident missile submarines. The work on the Vanguard class vessel will take place at three sites in the UK. Mr Hammond said: “As well as securing 2,000 UK jobs, this contract will ensure the nuclear deterrent submarine fleet can continue to operate safely and effectively.”
