Staff can annotate reasons why they were absent using self service workplace module
A dispute over changes to their contracts has led members of a teaching union to strike for three days this week at a secondary school. The NASUWT teachers have walked out and their union said members had no choice but to take a stand to protect their jobs. It accused the local authority of a "lack of willingness to negotiate". Gwynedd council said the single school would remain open during the strike.
Absenteeism can be monitored and acted upon at the workplace thanks to the WinTAnet software from Time and Attendance UK. The useful online self service module allows employees or contractors to view or change their personal information via an Internet Browser. Access to the self-service module is username and password protected. After a successful login, staff can view their absence calendar and make holiday requests. They can then add or amend any of their clockings, to be authorised subsequently by a line manager, and annotate reasons why they were absent.
