Cllr Terry Hall, the head of education at the council, said: “Obviously taking court action is the very final thing that we would contemplate but I do think it’s really important that all our young children attend school to the maximum.” He added: “The statistics show that children who attend school regularly get the best results, there’s no doubt about that.”
